Pay as you go

Lessons are priced at £23 per hour. You can be picked up from your home, school or work, wherever is most conveniant for you. Simply pay your instructor at the end of each lesson and book the next lesson that fits in with your commitments

 

Intensive courses

Darren's driving school provide intensive driving courses in Coleraine, Limavady, Portrush, Portstewart, Bushmills, Ballycastle, Ballymoney and Ballymena. Our intensive courses start from a short 8 hour course for someone who has recently failed their driving test, right up to the 35 to 40 hour intensive course suitable for the complete novice. Our intensive driving courses are designed to suit your individual requirements, these range from courses for the complete beginner who has never been behind the wheel before, to shorter courses for those who have recently failed their driving test and want to improve their driving skills in order to retake it as soon as possible. Intensive driving courses are the fastest way to learn to drive, pass the driving test and gain a full UK driving licence.

Our driving instructors will need to carry out an assessment of your driving skills to date to enable them to recommend the intensive course most suitable for your driving ability. Everyone is different and not everyone learns at the same pace so the number of hours required to reach the appropriate standard for the driving test will vary from person to person. In our experience, the number of hours required for the average beginner varies between 30 to 40 hours. Obviously some people will do this quicker than others, much depends on any previous driving experience. Our intensive driving courses can be taken over 1 to 6 weeks and the amount of hours you take per day/week will vary depending on the course length chosen, but typically 2 to 3 hour sessions are most popular, although 3 to 5 hour sessions are not uncommon. All you have to do is decide the time frame in which you want to pass your test in and arrange an assessment lesson with us.

In order to undertake an intensive course, you will need to have have passed your theory test, as you will not be able to book a practical test without this. If you have not yet passed your theory test then don't worry, just book your assessment lesson with us now and your driving instructor will help you to prepare for the theory test.

 

 

8 - Hour intensive course — 8 driving lessons to prepare you for the driving test. This intensive driving course is suitable for those who have recently failed a driving test and just require a quick brush up on their driving skills/manoeuvres. The course can be spread over 1 to 6 weeks prior to the test or over an amount of time suitable and convenient to the pupil.

15 - Hour intensive course — 15 driving lessons to prepare you for the driving test. This intensive driving course is suitable for those who require a thorough brush up on their driving skills/manoeuvres in preparation of their test. Or for those who have failed a driving test and not driven for a while. The course can be spread over 1 to 6 weeks prior to the test or over an amount of time suitable and convenient to the pupil.

20 - Hour intensive course — 20 driving lessons to prepare you for the driving test. This intensive driving course is suitable for anyone who has already attained an average overall standard of driving and have mastered the basic skills required, but need to brush up on their manoeuvres and general driving. The course can be spread over 1 to 6 weeks prior to the test or over an amount of time suitable and convenient to the pupil.

25 - Hour intensive course — 25 driving lessons to prepare you for the driving test. This intensive driving course is suitable for people who are able to do the manoeuvres but are still having problems with their accuracy and need to brush up on their basic driving skills. This intensive driving course is popular with pupils who started their lessons years ago and either failed their driving test or gave up their driving. The course can be spread over 1 to 6 weeks prior to the test or over an amount of time suitable and convenient to the pupil.

30 - Hour intensive course — 30 driving lessons to prepare you for the driving test. This intensive course is suitable for the beginner who has done some previous driving, the older novice or the nervous driver. This course will boost your confidence and get you on the road to success. The course can be spread over 1 to 6 weeks prior to the test or over an amount of time suitable and convenient to the pupil.

35 - Hour intensive course — 35 driving lessons to prepare you for the driving test. This intensive driving course is recommended for the less confident person who knows the basics and who has very little driving experience. The course can be spread over 1 to 6 weeks prior to the test or over an amount of time suitable and convenient to the pupil.

40 - Hour intensive course — 40 driving lessons to prepare you for the driving test. This intensive driving course is suitable for the absolute beginner who has no driving experience. Most pupils will achieve a high enough standard of driving and will normally be ready to take their driving test after completing this course which covers the whole DSA driving syllabus. This intensive course can be spread over 1 to 6 weeks prior to the test or over an amount of time suitable and convenient to the pupil.
